Here is their story!
HOW DID YOU MEET? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN TOGETHER?
Secondary school. We met in 2002 and got together in 2007. TWELVE YEARS this May.
TELL ME ABOUT THE PROPOSAL?
We were on holiday in Northumberland. We walked along the beach and he got down on one knee. I was not expecting it at all (or our dog nearly pulling him over into the sea mid proposal)
WHAT MADE YOU DECIDE TO GET MARRIED AT THE GAMEKEEPERS’ INN?
The bright, modern yet tasteful open room was love at first sight and got us excited straight away. And beautiful surroundings. As well as being close to home and easy to return to for family meals and anniversaries.
HOW MANY GUESTS?
72 day 100 night.
HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO PLAN YOUR WEDDING?
1 year ish.
HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR WEDDING?
An amazing day filled with family and friends, one we will never forget.
It flowed so well throughout the day, once we were past the morning nerves we felt totally at ease and stress free, enjoying every moment.
HOW DID YOU SPEND/ALLOCATE YOUR BUDGET?
We tried to keep costs down as much as possible, The Gamekeepers were amazing and made everything so reasonable.
WHERE DID YOU SPLURDGE AND WHERE/HOW DID YOU SAVE?
We made some profit from selling our first home which really helped and not to mention help from our family. I don’t think we splurged really. We made decorations ourselves and got my dress in an Ava Rose Hamilton sale. We found that everything is as expensive as you make it!
HOW/WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR PHOTOGRAPHER?
Because every photo she takes draws us in, especially wedding photos. So natural and in the moment. As an added bonus I’ve known Georgina all my life! Was a no brainer and was the first thing I booked after the wedding date was confirmed.
WHO WAS YOUR DRESS DESIGNER? ANY ACCESSORIES?
An enzoani blue gown from Ava Rose Hamilton.
Head peice from etsy.
Veil was borrowed.
My shoes..Matalan 😂
Slaters in Leeds. Dresses from ASOS.
DID YOU HAVE A THEME OR COLOUR SCHEME YOU WERE WORKING TOWARDS?
Champagne, nudes, pinks.
WHAT FLOWERS DID YOU HAVE?
Gold table decorations and Hessian chair sashes and bunting.
ON THE MENU?
Fish cake, chicken and leek with dauphinoise potatoes and sticky toffee pudding.
Cakes by Chloe
EVENING ENTERTAINMENT SHOUT OUT?
A band/DJ – The Black Marcs.
WHO SUPPLIED THE STATIONARY?
My mum made everything.
DID YOU HAVE ANY PERSONAL TOUCHES? OR THINGS THAT YOU D.I.Y?
Just about everything working with my mum and family.
WHAT ARE YOUR SPECIAL MOMENTS AND HIGHLIGHTS OF THE DAY?
Freya walking down the aisle with me and my Dad.
Seeing eachother for the first time.
Breaking away to take photos later on, was nice to just walk around and get some air and have a laugh with Georgina.
WHAT WAS THE BIGGEST SURPRISE OF THE DAY?
The Groom shedding a tear.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE ANY OTHER COUPLES ABOUT PLANNING THE BIG DAY?
To soak up every moment, the day soon goes. But we have all our photos, they are more important than I ever imagined. You’ll have them forever!!
