I first met Natasha and Antony at their home address in Earby at the beginning of the year. Through one thing and another their pre wedding shoot never quite got off the ground, Teagan came down with Chicken Pox followed shortly after by her sister, Lucie. As their wedding day drew closer we decided to swap the pre-shoot for first dance coverage, I’m so glad we did, I would’ve missed out on the Groom’s Arctic Monkey’s cover otherwise!
Their church ceremony was held within their parish at Earby All Saints Church and for their reception they chose The Spread Eagle Inn at Sawley, an area I knew well through my previous press photography work. The 29th May 2015 gave us a beautifully bright, sunny day but with a kick of wind and some serious rain showers early on!
The church ceremony was relaxed, informal and fun and as they left the church showered in confetti and dodging hailstones they made their way to the venue to toast their new marriage. To celebrate with friends. Eat, drink and dance the night away.
Just yesterday a friend of mine from Hong Kong was showing me her wedding album(s) and was commenting on the stark differences between British and Chinese wedding photography. Traditionally in China there is no photographer on the wedding day itself, the images are taken over a a period of two days in the weeks before the wedding…as beautiful as she is, they are too staged for my personal taste, if we weren’t there on the day we wouldn’t capture the atmosphere of the day. We almost lost Natasha’s veil to the wind as she disappeared underneath the top layer of her dress!
Last week on the Helmsley wedding shoot I was able to capture an amazing sunset pic for the Bride & Groom and although on this wedding the sun setting was covered by cloud we did get some lovely soft light towards the end of the evening. A groovy pink lens flare that I love too! I’m totally addicted to capturing them now for my couples as they are quite simply beautiful, so for 2016 bookings I will be there from sunrise to sunset!
A huge congratulations to Mr + Mrs Reedy on your Wedding Day. I wish you and your girls a healthy, happy future that’s full to bursting with love xx
